Meet the Staff

Jennifer Kirkman, MD
Medical Director and Wound Care Physician
Dr. Jennifer Kirkman completed medical school at the University of Alabama Birmingham and continued her training in General Surgery at Duke University. After completing her intern year at Duke she continued her training in Family Medicine at Halifax Family Medicine Residency in Daytona Beach, FL. As a board certified family medicine physician, she has worked both as a hospitalist and a primary care physician prior to training as a wound care physician. She now specializes in wound care and hyperbaric medicine. Her goal is to provide full service wound care, including hyperbaric medicine, allografts, CAMPS, and ultrasonic debridement at the new clinic located in the provident building on Memorial University Hospital’s main campus.

Christen Cannady, RN, BSN
Director of Clinical Operations
Christen has been a Registered Nurse since 2011 and initially practiced in Pediatrics at Memorial Hospital in Savannah & in Pediatric ICU at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Prior to joining the Advanced Healing Leadership team, she worked both in a Healogics hospital outpatient center and with a mobile wound care group. Christen has over 5 years of cumulative experience which includes 2 years in a management role. As the Clinical Nurse Manager, she was able to achieve the yearly healing goals to win the Healogics Center of Distinction award twice. Christen has a fervor for providing high-quality, compassionate care to all and looks to serve each patient as she would want her loved ones cared for. She also ensures that the team she’s working with has the support they need to learn the required skills for wound care and do their best work, while maintaining a healthier work/life balance. In her spare time, she enjoys reading as well as spending time with her family and 3 cats.

Amber Brown, RN, BSN
With 16 years of dedicated experience in wound care, I am a compassionate and highly skilled RN, BSN committed to improving patient outcomes through advanced clinical expertise, education, and advocacy.

Savannah, RN
Savannah graduated from Darton State College (now Albany State University) and has been a Registered Nurse since 2013. She started her nursing career at Tift Regional Medical Center, where she spent a year as a floor nurse and then 9 years as a Med-Surg Charge Nurse. During her time there, she mastered the art of patient care, leadership, and learning that caffeine and teamwork can solve almost anything. Moving to the Savannah area in 2023, she joined the Endoscopy Unit at St. Joseph’s/Candler Hospital. After 3 years, she decided to chase her dream of being a wound care nurse, joining the Advanced Healing team. Savannah is thrilled to continue learning and growing as a nurse, bringing compassion and personality to this exciting new adventure!

Hi there! I have almost thirty years of experience as a Medical Assistant. In 1993, Bryman College of New Orleans Certified me as a Medical Assistant. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services in 2018. I enjoy watching movies, traveling, and spending time with my family. I have three grandchildren and two grown boys. For eleven years, I have been married to an Army veteran. In addition to being a collector of unicorn and Betty Boop accessories, green is my favorite color. Although I was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, I have lived in Georgia for the past twelve years.
